Hot Yoga advert 1It’s a boiling hot day and you leave the office contemplating if you can go home and relax in the garden with an ice cream instead of going to your hot yoga class than you booked in a few days ago…

While it may seem silly to be going to such a hot class when the weather is also glorious outside, there’s some vital benefits in continuing through the hot weather!

  1. Sweating is good for you!

Maybe you overate at the barbecue at the weekend or maybe drunk one too many Pimms’ and it’s left you feeling lethargic. Well heading down to your local hot yoga class may be the answer to your problem! Some believe that sweating is a great way to rid your body of alcohol, cholesterol and salt – all of the compounds which add to you feeling like that after a weekend of indulging! However much truth is in that, we do know that sweating does unblock your pores and releases the dirt that gets blocked in them!

  1. Acclimatising your body

Hot yoga is an easy way for your body to acclimatise to the warmer days. After months of wet and cold days, the hot weather can come as a shock to the body – especially in the UK! If your body is used to the high temperatures, it will be easier to regulate your core body temperature when you’re out in the heat.

  1. Staying hydrated

If you’re a regular hot yoga goer, then you’ll know the importance of keeping hydrated in the heat. It’s not always easy for some – it’s surprising how on a busy day you can sometimes forget to keep your fluid intake up. If you continue your hot yoga throughout the summer, you’ll be in good practice for keep on top of your hydration.

  1. Faster warm ups

In winter, leaving the office and heading straight for the hot yoga studio can leave you with your first Downward Dog of the day looking more like a downright disaster. If the weather’s nice and you’re heading to class, the heat will have already loosened up your joints and muscles and you’ll have a head start on your lesson!

  1. Maintaining your practice

You’ve slogged through the rough weather for the last few months, ensuring you make it to class each week so why waste all that effort to put it on hold for three months whilst the weather’s nice? You wouldn’t want to be starting back at square one on your first lesson back after the summer so keep up the practice throughout the sunny days and you’ll be one step ahead come the winter returners!
