With just six weeks to go until the London Marathon, ‘maranoia’ is probably well and truly setting in. For those of you who don’t know, ‘maranoia’ is a state of marathon paranoia. You’re dreaming that you sleep through your alarm, forget your number or you somehow manage to trip over your own shoelace and don’t make it across the start line. Your mind goes into overdrive and every imaginable scenario that could ruin your day has entered your head at one stage or another.

Life these days is non- stop. We get up early to go to work, leave work to go and catch up with friends, go shopping or do menial tasks like the house work. Prior to the London 2012 Olympics, less than 1% of the British Population could name a Paralympian. This week, Jonnie Peacock came third in the BBC’s Sports Personality of the Year. The two-time Paralympic Champion who had his right leg amputated below the knee as a five year old after contracting meningitis, also become a household name thanks to BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing. He became the first disabled contestant in the show’s history and had a mission to prove that he could be just as good as the other celebrities.
